DEBBY SAYS: My Leather!

Shawn Rock Radio Personality Manhattan Kansas

SHAWN SAYS: Jon, as it should be...your Ramones leather should
rule your wardrobe.

My favorite leather is a tight fitting 70's style women's leather jacket.
It's hot as hell, I tell you! And it smells like a combination of leather, smoke,
and rock n' roll...mmmm rock n' roll...know what I mean?

"Black leather, I wear it on stage
Black leather, I'm gonna wear it to my grave
Black leather, I will wear it anywhere
Because my name is JOAN JETT and I don't care
Just the feel of it on my flesh make me
Feel wild feel possessed
But I'm not don't get me wrong
I'm the baddest slick chick and I'm singin'
This song"

-Joan Jett (the baddest bitch around)

joann-thrax is pretty rockin Phoenix Arizona

JOANN SAYS: I actually don't have a favorite piece of leather.

Cherry! Salt Lake City Utah

CHERRY! SAYS: My favorite leather is my first leather jacket
I bought with my first paycheck from my first job in 1989.

It doesn't fit anymore. That is ok. It reminds me of how I worked
hard for something and I was able to get it. Since then I have had
many things that were leather.

But that will always mean the most to me.

Kimberly Paradise Valley Arizona

KIMBERLY SAYS: Black leather pants on guy. =)

Barbara Writer/Photographer Atlanta Georgia

Leather? I could write a book about leather. There
was nothing hotter than Jim Morrison in his leathers. Lonn Friend's book
is Life on Planet Rock. Mine would be Musicians In Leather.

You know, a coffee table book for lonely nights? Every photographer wants
to do a coffee table book. Maybe Scott Weiland on the cover...Halford on the
intro page...David Lee Roth on the back. Joan Jett could write the intro.

I have two favorite pieces of leather. I have a leather vest with a Danzig
press pass from the first show I ever shot and a leather motorcycle jacket
that I wear to every shoot.

I wear the vest for Danzig, and the jacket for Lemmy from Motorhead. -Lemmy
always has on leather. Leather is hot, sexy, and tough.

Nothing says ROCK WITH YOUR COCK OUT like leather. Nothing says touch me
like leather. Tell Santa I want a pair of black leather lambskin pants for Christmas.
I already have the steel toed Harleys.

GREAT QUESTION! Maybe next week should be tattoos! (Did that already-JL)

bracelet I have, black and wide.

I like it because it represents my masculine and rough side.

My favorite leather has to be my long, black, low cut, skin tight, black
with a dragon airbrushed all over it, leather dress Italian leather at that.

Had especially made for me back in 2000. Cost me, but worth it, and it still
fits. ;)

Fits like a glove. Hmmmm, it is getting chilly here now? Maybe I can bring
it out.

Second choice my leather and chain skirt and top equipped with choker,
wrist and ankle cuffs.

Sharon United Kingdom

SHARON SAYS: Hmmm...let me think. It's got to be my
bronze belt

Because, ooops I lost it having a good time. xxx

Nicole Cheshire United Kingdom

hmmmm. My fave leather would have to be...
some leather arms I made out of an old pair of leather trousers,
that I always wear for gigs.

They criss cross on the inside, and are a black snakeskin effect on the
outside. For some reason they make my arms feel stronger, and so when
I dance I put more forse into every move...ace!

Couldn't dance with leather trousers though. How would I move? lol

And, of course my leather belt with chains attached for the full Shakira
effect. LOL

SUE SAYS: My New Rock boots, cos they are PURE ROCK and
comfy and sexy.

Got a pair of red and black and a pair of all black ones.
Expensive but well worth every penny.

Sue xx

David Sadof Radio Personality Houston Texas

DAVID SAYS: Jonathan, well, I know at least one person who
doesn't love leather. Chrissie Hynde.

When I met her, a group of us were told to remove any items that
were made of leather or fur and set them on the table in the corner.
Either that or be prepared for a stern lecture from Hynde.

My favorite leather is my black motorcycle jacket that I bought at
Mancuso Harley in Houston. I don't ride, but I have to give them credit.
They tried to sell me a bike to go with the jacket!

You can't blame them for trying.

Sally (aka Saffy) Chester, Cheshire United Kingdom

SALLY SAYS: Hi Jonathan. I guess my favorite leather item would
have to be my old short cut, patchwork style leather biker jacket.

Still has my badges on, and ever so slightly still smells of patchouli oil.
God those were the days...heh heh!

I used to wear a denim jacket, with the sleeves cut off over the top too
sometimes, and that was so frayed and tatty, dunno where that went
though...real shame.

Keren Stroud, Gloucestershire United Kingdom

KEREN SAYS: hee hee, these questions get better and better.

I have pair black leather jeans which I luv. And, a full lenth
length black leather dress, but I only wear that for fancy dress
cos, bit over the top to wear to town!!!

Georgie (aka Buckshot George) Scottsdale Arizona

Hey Jonathan! Hope you're having a good week.
I have a pair of Acme cowboy boots that I picked up a flea market
(they call 'em 'swap meets' out west) in Kentucky for about $75.

They're black with a red flame pattern. If Gene Simmons were a cowboy,
he'd wear boots like that. hahaha

But truth be told, if I had a black leather Ramones jacket, it just might be
my #1 favorite piece of leather.

The Ramones black leather jacket with the full on emblem
is my favorite, but what I neglected to say is that it is a small medium and
fits Jeanette better than me. The one I wear is my much worn Sisters Of
Mercy heavy black leather jacket with a their huge logo on the back. Turns
heads. Especially when nuns see it.-LOL

now - I just tend to take it out of my wardrobe and get all nostalgic
about the great time I had in California, ahhh the memories of the
fun times I had wearing that jacket.

Thanks for the question it has made me smile!

Trudy Wales United Kingdom

TRUDY SAYS: Hi Jonathan. My fave leather item is definitely my
3/4 bikers leather jacket. I totally loved the thing as soon as I set
eyes on it!!

Later on in that year, I think it was 1989-1990, I had the honor of
meeting Little Angels, The Almighty and Dangerous Toys and
more than willingly all the boys from all the bands signed the back of
the jacket for me. :)

It is still a talking piece with people I meet and always a 'happy memory'
conversation with my friends. I'll always cherish it as some of the people
in the music industry that I've idolised and supported over the years have
taken their time out to show their support to me, one of the fans, and also
it's something that my children love and adore. :)

SpiderBaby Memphis Tennessee

I love any and all leather. Just ask my
boyfriend what I do when I see leather items.

They go directly under my nose for the inhalation of ecstasy!

S&M shops rule for sniffing the leather...they don't seem to mind
as much...haha!

Q of THE WEEK: (scroll down to November 20 for full Q)

~gLiTtEr~ Dallas Texas

What a question and what a mood I am in.
The plain fact and truth is the smell and look of leather just has "sex"
written all over it.

Makes me one horney girl. You asked for it.

JONATHAN: Hmm, I hadn't thought about it that way. ;-) Really.

Jules United Kingdom

JULES SAYS: I love my black leather bikers jacket, although I
never rode anything more adventurous than the Chopper that be-
longed to my neighbour when I was 10.

I never got rid of it even though it was hideously outdated, and it
was from teenage angst days when I listened to the likes of The
and The Cure, etc.

It was gathering dust in a cupboard in my old bedroom at my mums
and low and behold!...it's back in fashion!

It only took just under 20 years! Rock and Roll!

I am not out of fashion, I am merely 5 seasons ahead.

Alba Bama! San José Costa Rica

ALBA SAYS: My favorite leather things are my Birello boots.
There's nothing in this world as good as a pair of Brazilian
leather boots!

Plus, they look and feel great!

Alex (L) with friend Steffi (R) Falkirk Scotland

ALEX SAYS: Yes, I like leather clothing as well, but have not gone
for the leather all over look to date yet.

Black is the best going out sexy look, and I do have a short leather
skirt that fits the bill. I have a light brown leather jacket, which is
more of a classic dressy look than sexy in my view.

Although not leather, my bf has given me a short sexy black PVC/Rubber
dress to go to a fetish event in the future, which will be a first for me.

I'm looking forward to that experience, and I have to say it does look
sexy, lol. Oh, and I just love the Catwoman look, hmmmmm.

Luv, Alex. xxx

to pieces.

It's a battle getting in and out of it now as I get all tangled up (must
find someone to reline it!!), but I've had it 8 years now, and it's just

Love it, and it's all scuffed and worn, but I'll never replace. Something
about worn leather which is brilliant. It becomes your shape and almost
part of you.

New leather smells brilliant, but old leather that you've owned all its life
is almost like a second skin!

November 21
Born in 1965 in the Icelandic capital city, daughter of Gudmundur Gunnarsson (who was
electrician) and Hildur Hauksdóttir, who divorced before her second birthday, Björk grew
up in a hippie type community with her mother and her 7 siblings. She started to study
classical music at the age of 5 and released her first album in 1977 (mainly traditional Ice-
landic folk songs and international hits translated in Icelandic) when she was only 11. Dur-
ing her teenage years, Björk became involved in several bands, most of them being punk:
Spit & Snot (1977), Exodus (1979-80), Jam 80 (1980), Tappi Tíkarrass (1981-83, who fea-
tured the documentary Rokk í Reykjavík (1982)) and Kukl (1984-86). Then she formed the
pop group The Sugarcubes with Einer Orn and Siggi Baldurson and eventually other members
Thor Eldon (with whom she had a son in 1986), Magg Ornotfsdottir and Bragi Olafsson. The
band released its first single in 1986 and its first album, "Life's Too Good", in 1988, and disc-
overed international success, especially in UK. During her Sugarcubes years, Björk also coll-
aborated with the Icelandic jazz group Gudmundar Ingólfssonar Trio for the album "Gling-Glo"
in 1990, and featured 808 State's "Ooops", which is the start of her electronic music interest.
The Sugarcubes eventually split after a few albums in 1992 and in 1993, Björk released her
first solo album, "Debut", collaborating with producer Nellee Hooper. The worldwide acclaimed
success of the album (nearly 3 million copies sold) enventually gave birth to her second album,
"Post", in 1995, also with help of Nellee Hooper but also techno gurus Graham Massey (from
808 State), Howie Bernstein and Tricky, followed by the remix album "Telegram" the year after.
There is so much more, including her riviting perfomance in "Dancer In The Dark" in 2000. She
continues to sing and act, and will be around for a long long time.

Cathy (Cat) Massillon Ohio

CATHY SAYS: As always you come up w/great questions!! Hard
decision I do love leather. But easy at the same time.

My best friend Vickie gave me a dressy leather jacket that has
like a blue lace look on the shoulders for my 25th birthday.

I still have it and wear it. We have been friends since I was 15 and
I'll be 40 in December.

Happy Holidays, Cat

SASH SAYS: Hi Jonathan. This is a good question. My current favourite
is my black leather sofa I bought a few weeks ago as it's huge, glossy,
butter-soft and wonderful for curling up on with the bloke after a hard day
at the office.

Although, I also recently bought a pair of dove-grey goatskin leather gloves
which are fast becoming a favourite item too. I LOVE leather.

And suede. And fur.

Ming-Na (translated her name means "enlightenment"), was born on the island of Macau,
a Portuguese territory located 40 miles from Hong Kong in 1963 that was returned to China
in 1999. Her mother Lin Chan Wen divorced her father when Ming-Na was only a toddler. She

her first acting job in 1988 on the soap "As the World Turns". Her big break came when she was

She was one of the very first Chinese American actresses to
have a contract role on the TV series "As the World Turns". Is a Star Wars fan. Has two children.
Was a popular cast member of "ER" as Dr. Jing-Mei 'Deb" Chen. Is currently starring as Agent
Lin Mei on television series "Vanished".

I can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t love leather.

Whether it’s an article of clothing or any item-what is your
favorite LEATHER?

What is it and why?

Mine is my black leather Ramones jacket.

Vivi (aka Line 666) Rock Journalist Besancon France

VIVI SAYS: Hey Jonathan. So my favorite leather items are my
black underwears leather (as you can guess it... hee hee hee)
and my red leather jacket with small strapps everywhere.

I'm a metalhead and I consider wearing leather is like having the
a "Rock n' Roll attitude' in a certain way. So, I can say I've got the
Rock n' Roll attitude even with a...thong. hahaha.

Cheers, Vivi

Sydney Vain Musician Washington D.C.

SYDNEY SAYS: My favorite leather was a pair of black leather pants
that I used for my band during live shows.

Problem with leather is that it stretches out.

Pil Copenhagen Denmark

PIL SAYS: Hi Jonathaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan! :) :) :)

I'm glad you haven't forgotten all about me, although I deserve it for
my flakines - but what can I do; I'm TOTALLY occupied with my baby
sons...very, very active baby sons, might I add. :)

Well! You didn't, and I appreciate that very much. So now it's about leather,
I see...you just keep amazing me with your ideas!

LEATHER! Oh, leather! I simply LOVE leather. It keeps me warm and breathing,
I truly think it doesn't look better on anybody else but me, just as nothing else
fits me better than leather. Personally, I think that it's because I'm a cow.

He he! :)

Nah, seriously, I really do like leather. It's warm, beautiful, sexy, protective and
it just gets better the more you wear it. My favorite leather object must be my
dark brown leather pants, that have followed me through thick and thin for
almost 15 years now.

We've been firewalking together in snowy Norway, we've danced in the mud at
Roskilde Festival, we've been riding motorcycle in the rain and at night, we've
practically been inseparable through every winter here in Denmark since I got
them. We've been slapped in the booty several times because it just looks too
tempting not to, I guess.

I think they've actually even hooked me up with some dates, I might not have
gotten without them. :)

And of course they've also played their part and had their share of the outcome
at those occasions. ;)

Come to think of it, I think I have to pull them out of the closet and wear them
right away now! Gotta go, bye-bye!

Tanya (aka My Name's Not Pretty Pretty) Jacksonville Florida

TANYA SAYS: I too, have a great leather jacket, but I love a nice
pair of black leather pants. (Not to be worn with any other leather
item of clothing!)

They're just so Joan Jett/Jim Morrison/Iggy Pop.

~Samantha~ Somewhere in Kansas

SAM SAYS: I would have:

Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, because Joan is the BEST and I would
not be able to survive without her music!

Aerosmith. Steven Tyler makes me happy and i jus love how he can sing
low and hit those high notes too. :O

Blondie. What more do I need to say!? They were part of the beginning of
great PUNk ROCk at least here in America, and they are still some of the

The Runaways. All-time favorite female band, and always will be!

Poison. 'Cause they are nothing but a good time. ;) lol, and they take
hot pics. ;)

And then I would sneak in my Pink Floyd or Queen too :D
Pink Floyd and Queen can be very calming to my soul!

Just 5 CD's would be very hard for me. :o/ lol

Pauly Radio Personaility Clarksville Tennessee

PAULY SAYS: I hate when this question comes up...that's why I travel
with a friggin' amp case full of CD's. The first three Stooges albums all
burned on one disc, ya know? Is that cheating?

1) The Stooges -Fun House. Played at maximum volume so I wouldn't
have to scream for help.

2) Pink Floyd -Piper at The Gates of Dawn. I ate the native mushrooms.

3) Ramones -All the Stuff and more Vol. 1. That's 700 songs and still not
enough Ramones.

4) Black Sabbath -Black Sabbath. The natives will have to learn to head
bang of course. It will also help me get over the fact I didn't bring
Mudhoney or Nirvana.

5) PiL -Flowers of Romance. Just so I can be the weirdest guy on the island.

Hey, if this island were say Manhattan, couldn't I just go buy more Cd's?

Phil (aka Justice 101) Buckeye Arizona

Metallica -Master of Puppets
Rammstein -Mutter
U2 -Best of 1980-1990
Mindless Self Indulgence -You'll Rebel To Anything (as long as
it's not challenging)

Enigma -Love Sensuality Devotion

Master of Puppets is essential listening for Metallica fans. I've tried to
go long periods of time without it, and things got ugly.

I love Rammstein's electronic/metal sound, so it was a toss-up between
"Mutter" and "Sehnsucht" but I chose "Mutter because of songs like "Feuer
Frei!" and "Zwitter."

U2 can keep me mellow and clear-headed when I need to be.

MSI is pretty insane immature stuff for partying by myself next to a campfire.

Enigma's greatest hits has lots of soul-searching, sad, and sentimental music
that'd help me through many nights alone.

It's a really tough question, Jonathan, but I'm proud of my picks!

JONATHAN: Phil, I think it's a damn good list.

Barbara Music Incider Atlanta Georgia

1. Strange Days by the Doors. -"Lost Little Girl" would be as appropriate
as hell for being lost on a fucking island as I wait for Jim to come and
save my sorry ass, because I know he is still alive...and I want his pants.

-"People Are Strange" would remind me of the real world, and "Love Me
Two Times" for the ultimate Jim fantasy.

2. Grace by Jeff Buckley. Jeff has this spiritual thing that happens with his
voice in his work. The has never been anybody that sounds like Buckley and
there never will be. He sure as hell doesn't sound like Lukas Rossi to me.
Who thought that up?

3. Full Moon Fever by Tom Petty. If you are lost on a fucking island, you need
something to keep you going. Tracks like "I Won't Back Down", and "Yer So Bad"
just keep you going. Of Course, I would have preferred a whole fucking Tom
box set.

4. Enemy of God by Kreator. If I am stuck on a desert island, I need music to
be pissed of with. Mille can reach right in and make you want to raise the
"Flag of Hate".

5. The Essential Suzi Quatro. Suzi was first. She still kicks ass. She had inspired
me to become a singer-and then I started smoking. Now, I write about music and
take pictures instead. Suzi needs to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along
with Joan Jett and so many other women that kick ass.

I would also need a three month supply of Jack Daniels and the finest herb available
...food and water might be nice-but if I am going to go I want to be happy.

Jules United Kingdom

JULES SAYS: Cool site Jonno!

However I wish in hindsite I put Stevie Wonder -Innervisions
in there somewhere *sigh*

The Queen one was in memory of my mispent youth!

I am still mispending as much as my age will allow.

Ok, here goes the revised version, in no particular order (disclaimer,
the old choices still stand, but I am a greedy bitch)

1) Muse -Absolution
2) Foo Fighters – One by One
3) Neneh Cherry – Man
4) Queens of the Stone Age – Songs for the Deaf
5) Scissor Sisters – Scissor Sisters

And the winner is…..ah that would be telling!

You are so cute Jules. I ran every change. I hope that
was it? -lol

Marg Helgenberger
Ahh, the face of one of my favorite TV shows, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" was born in 1958
in Fremont, Nebraska.
She earned a degree in drama at Northwestern University. A talent scout
recruited her from there to work on the soap opera "Ryan's Hope" (1975) where she appeared
over the course of the next four years.
In TV series she won an Emmy for her portrayal of a hard-
bitten prostitute who catered to Vietnam War soldiers, in the series "China Beach" (1988). She
also was George Clooney's love interest in a multi-episode arc of the monumentally successful TV
series "ER" (1994). Got her start as a local news weather girl in her native Nebraska. The news
producer felt her name was too long and made her change it to Margi McCarty. This was her night
job. Her day job was as a meat boner at the meat packing plant where her father was a meat in-
spector. Her greatest claim to fame on the silver screen may be when she played opposite Julia
Roberts as a chemical exposure victim in the popular movie Erin Brockovich (2000).
In her personal
life, Helgenberger is the daughter of a cancer survivor and is very active in supporting research for
breast cancer.

C-Rod Charlottesville Virginia

C-ROD SAYS: Cool. First question can I crash land with an ipod instead
of a CD player? No? alrighty then...5 CD's:

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts -Sinner. Just because I'm hooked on it
right now. Thommy kicks ass on the drums and I could carve me some
drumsticks and play along.

Twisted Sister -Stay Hungry. For those headbanging moments and the title
would be relevant unless the island has plentiful plant and animal life.

Dio -Dream Evil. Just so I could listen and cry with "all the fools sailed away"

Thommy Price -Sex Drums Rock 'n' Roll. Unless this plane wreck is in the
future after "Thats Amore" comes out, then I want that instead because "I play
drums" kicks some serious ass!

Ramones -Road to Ruin. This one doesn't need an explanation does it?

JONATHAN: I spoke with Thommy the other night. In the new year he
plans to go back in the studio and finish it. I have a full demo of it...but
cannot share it. You can listen to my radio shows on the net, and can hear
Thommy ocassionally.

2 - Madonna -The Immaculate Collection

3 - Tears for Fears -Songs from the Big Chair

4 - Def Leppard -Hysteria

5 - Guns n Roses -Use Your Illusion II

MISHEL SAYS: It'd have to be the Led Zeppelin boxed set.

It's like 54 songs, so there's my 5 CD's.

I mean every emotion, thought or feeling you've ever had are
in these songs. Why bring anything else?

Oh, except maybe a few bottles of booze!

Holly (aka ANRGIRL) Nashville Tennessee

HOLLY SAYS: Oh...this is an easy one.

Elvis Presley - anything....even the Christmas Album "If Every Day
Were Like Christmas". LOVE HIM! Is there anything I need to explain
about THE KING!???

The Beatles-1967 - 1970 - Such a diverse collection of the best songs
ever written. Some of my favorites are "A Day In the Life", "Hey Jude",
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Something", "Across the Universe".

Heart Greatest Hits: Live - I LOVE Ann Wilson's voice...and the songs
on this record are powerful, dangerous and sexy..."Barracuda", "Crazy
On You", "Bebe Lestrange". The Wilson sisters at their finest. :-)

U2 -"Unforgettable Fire" - I already told you guys last time what I feel
about Bono. The music and magic of this band is incredible. I love the
ambience of this album and over vibe.

30 Seconds to Mars -"Beautiful Lie" - I love Jared Leto's vocals. They
are full of passion and conviction. His acting career is a side job to his
delivery of these vocals and lyrics on this album. The soundscapes and
production are enchanting and powerful. Love the dynamics and roman-

Keren Stroud, Gloucestershire United Kingdom

KEREN SAYS: Hmmmmm...5 CD's.

Aerosmith -A Little South of Sanity
Various -Queen of the Damned Soundtrack
Rooster -Rooster
Goo Goo Dolls -can't think of the album title?
Green Day -Warning

Ok why I chose the albums. Very difficult choice as I have so many
albums that I love.

Aerosmith as you know are my fave band...and that album is a best of
and covers all my fave songs by them.

Queen of the Damned Soundtrack...I tend to play this when getting
ready to go out. I'ts very heavy and dark and I just enjoy listening to that

Rooster...a great band, very under rated I think. Not one bad song on their
debut album. Old style rock and the whole album rocks. One you can sing
along to all the time.

Goo Goo Dolls...another band that are very underated. Again, a great album.
Not a bad song on the album. I love every single song on this album too and
can sing along to it all.

Green Day. Everyone seems to have gone Green Day mad after their album
American Idiot...which is a great album to be fair to them. But I luv the Warning
album. Very varied styles on this album. Again, can sing along to all the songs.
Not a bad song on the album, my fave song being "Misery".

1. Nora Jones -Because I love to sing along to this CD and it relaxes me.

2. AC/DC -Back in Black. This CD will make me want to shake my ass
no matter what so I won't get to lazy or depressed.

3. Eagles -Greatist Hits Vol II. The best sing along rock album ever.

4. Led Zepplin -Stairway to Heaven. Just because it's part of who I
am today.

5. Lynyrd Skynyrd -Greatist Hits. They were my first concert at age 12
and made me who I am today. This will be the CD that keeps me sane!

Dawn (aka Princess Adapta) Patterson New York

DAWN SAYS: OK Jonathan. Gotta love these "Lost" questions.
Ok, here goes:

1. Rent -Movie Soundtrack (these songs have been sung by my friend's
and me so much at work that they are permanently wedged in my brain
and it would make me think of them).

2. Kimberely Locke -"One Love". She's one of my favorite female singers
of today (not only 'cause she was a finalist on American Idol), but also
cause I've met her dozens of times and seen her perform and I love her to
death. So I'd want to have memories of that with me.

3. Depeche Mode -Singles 86-93. Every song of their's is a haunting, personal,
deep and exhilirating experience for me and I've loved them since I was 17,
one of my all time faves.

4. U2 -"The Joshua Tree". By far, the BEST album I've ever owned. I coin my
life on certain songs and I wouldn't be able to NOT listen to BONO being stranded.

5. ANY 80s' compilation- Have to have the music that defined me and makes me
laugh, sing, jump around and act nuts (something to cheer me up when those days
get realllllly long!!)

Sharon United Kingdom

SHARON SAYS: If I was stranded on an island I would hope to find
a nice guy as I would get bored. So if thats not the case my album
choices would be:

Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd.

The Wall by Pink Floyd.

Volume Four by Led Zeppelin.

Play by Moby.

Cool As by The Inspiral Carpets.

Tina Texarkana Arkansas

Oh, this is a fun one! Lets see....how 'bout some
Cat Stevens for sure. He makes me feel good. I could relax and
forget where the hell I am and the mess I've got myself into!

Then there would have to be some Bob Dylan 'cause he is real and
could help keep my mind straight!

How bout some Taproot 'cause they say everything I'm thinkin' all
the time.

Gotta have some Alvin Lee to play me some blues!

Last but not least for sure Id need some Megadeth to deal with my anger
issues. Specially while I'm tryin to catch that fish cause I'm gonna get hungry
for sure! lol. Only 5? That would suck all by itself don't u know?!!!

Kiera Harris
The 5' 7" upcoming actress and model was born in 1986 in Wichita, Kansas, the 3rd
of 4 daughters (Sky, Trinity and Zandren) of parents Denise and Jim, Kiera Harris
graduated from Wichita High School North in 2005. She began her performing career
in dance at the age of 3. This continued throughout high school and led to becoming
an award-winning cheerleader and letter woman. Kiera was also active in choir and
swimming as well as being an honor student. As she grew up, her height and beauty
made her a natural for modeling which she pursued throughout the Midwest. Her mo-
deling exposure brought her to the attention of independent film producers eager to
cast her in their projects. Although never completed, her participation in two other
films, "Adrenaline" and "Cursed Waters", gave her the invaluable experience she need-
ed to tackle her co-starring role in "Framing Frankie". While filming "Adrenaline", Kiera
had the memorable opportunity to work with and be coached by actor Ray Duke. The
micro-budget horror film "Cursed Waters" gave her a chance to work with many hand-
crafted special effects with Phillips Films. Kiera has been a model representing several
independent skin care lines along the way since she was a young child. It was through
a modeling website that she was discovered by Nigel Sheppard and Ben Allen to co-star
in "Framing Frankie" in 2005.

You are “Lost” on an island, and with only
The clothes on your back, you luckily have a
small portable CD player with about 3-months
supply worth of batteries.

What 5 CD’s are you hoping you have with you
that will keep you from going insane?

Explain why you will be able to listen to them
Over and over and over? Remember it’s at least 3-months.

Jen (aka Japwag) Newcastle United Kingdom

JEN SAYS: I would take Enigma, David Bowie, the old ones like
Uncle Aurther, Silly Boy Blue, ect.

Sting. Nothing like the Sun album. George Michael, and Oleta Adams
Circle Of One album.

Good to hear from you. Will try and respond to all bulletins. They are
better than blogs for getting a response as I have found out.
Keep them coming.

Love from Jen xxx

JONATHAN: Thanks Jen. I agree. Blogs are ok...but I'd like to think
that people love reading about what other people think on certain
subjects. So, please do continue to participate. :-)

Nikki (aka Myspace Addict) Fresno California

NIKKI SAYS: Okay...this is kind of a tough one. WTF?
Batteries and a CD player?

Are there any special "self pleasuring" devices? That would throw
off the "battery use" dynamic...because I'd have to play CD's for a
couple of hours and then hum for the remainder of the 3 months.

In the event that wasn't an option *sigh* I suppose I'd have to have;

Tool -10000 Days
Imogen Heap -Speak For Yourself
Jane's Addiction -Nothing's Shocking
Soundgarden -Down On The Upside
Red Hot Chili Peppers -Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik

Oh GOD...I'd be in HELL...JUST FIVE?!?! JEEZUS...I change my music
more than the Republican Party changes their "spin" on current events.

I can't do it!

What about Big Brother and The Holding Company? STP -Core? Prince?
Warren Haynes? Gov't Mule??? Or...Tears for Fears?!!? Concrete Blonde?
Stevie Ray Vaughan?? Muddy Waters?!? NIRVANA!?!?!?!?!?
The Foo Fighters?!!!!!!!

memories of the past when I listen to that.

me happy.

5.Europe- Start From The Dark. Great lyrics and memories yet again!

Wendy San Francisco California

WENDY SAYS: This took some time to mull over, but I would like to
have a Reggae CD. Any Horace Andy to trick me into thinking I am on

Any Ella Fitzgerald, cuz she has the sweetist voice that any sad song has
an uplifting mood to it (also it's fun to sing along with her).

A CD of David Sedaris. Reading his books will entertain me at night and/or
feel like someone reading to me before bed.

Pizzicato Five, cuz it's fun to sing along with while making a hut and tools too,
and Thelonious Monk to produce fire.

Britanny Murphy
One of the stars of "Sin City" (and filming "Sin City 2"), was born in Atlanta, Georgia and
raised in Edison, New Jersey. Brittany first honed her acting skills in regional theater at
the age of 9. By age 13, she had signed on with a manager and began appearing in tele-
vision commercials. In 1991, at the age of 13, Brittany and her mother moved to Burbank,
California, where she landed her first television role on the show "Blossom" (1991). This
lead to a starring role on "Drexell's Class" (1991), a series that proved to be short lived.
Brittany's major breakthrough film appearance was in Clueless (1995), the Emma meets
"Beverly Hills, 90210" (1990) comedy, in which she starred opposite of Alicia Silverstone.
In February 2000, she appeared [with Girl, Interrupted (1999) costar Winona Ryder] in
"The Vagina Monologues", reading a chilling story of a Bosnian woman's rape camp exp-
eriences. Was set to star in a biopic of Janis Joplin, but the film was grounded over battles
for the rights to Joplin's songs. She had won the role over Courtney Love and Emily Watson.
In the early 90s, she was the lead singer in her band, called "Blessed Soul". Ranked 32nd on
the Maxim Hot 100 in 2003. Named #8 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2005 list. In May
of 2006, her single "Faster Kill Pussycat" with Paul Oakenfold reached Number 7 in the UK

Eva Ruiz Writer/Model Los Angeles California

EVA SAYS: Slowdive--Souvlaki, Belle & Sebastian--Tigermilk,
Siouxsie and the Banshees--Kaleidescope, Lil Kim--Norotious
The Smiths--Hatful of Hollow.

I'd choose Souvlaki for that trancy, meditative feel that brings me to
memories of rainy mornings and heartache; Tigermilk for the whispers
of vocals and the folky feel; Kaleidescope for Siouxsie's killer voice and
the powerful songwriting; Notorious K.I.M to satisfy my need for booty
shaking and trashy, feminist-induced lyrics; and Hatful of Hollow, because
it's just damn good.

Cheers, Eva Ruiz

Trouble in WOnderLanD Minneapolis Minnesota

Hello Jonathan. I have such an eclectic taste in
music I would probably bring 5 of my mixed CD's - They hold every-
thing from Siouxsie & The Banshees, Snoop Dogg, Sarah Brightman,
U2, Deftones, American Head Charge, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole,
Elvis, Led Zeppelin, ....the list could go on and on.

If I had to pick actual CD's they would be

1) Deftones -White Pony

2) Siouxsie & The Banshee's -A Kiss in The Dreamhouse
3) Sarah Brightman -Classics

4) Black Crowe's -Shake your Money Maker
5) A mixed CD :)

Hope all is going well for you!!!

Mel (aka Always In the Red) Glasgow Scotland

MEL SAYS: Ok, this sounds interesting. Even being lost on an island
sounds good right at this moment. It's hellish dreary here in Glasgow
just now.

Anyway, my 5 CDs would be, in no particular order

1. Roger Glover - The Butterfly Ball
Cause I never tire of hearing this and it cheers me up when I feel lost.

2. Buckcherry - 15
This one so I can scream along at the top of my voice.

3. The Eels - Beautiful Freak
For when I feel like shit and don't want to be cheered up.

4. Some various rock crap like the Best Rock Guitar Anthems or
For background music and to get me up and dancing
about like a tit.

5. KT Tunstall - Eye to the Telescope
For chillin out.

I could really have spent all day thinking about this, but no point in that.
Its about how I'm feeling at the moment, so this is it.

Thanks for asking Jonathan

Mel x

JONATHAN: Thanks Mel for taking the time and participating. ;-)

Sissy Musician Los Angeles California

SISSY SAYS: Hi doll. The five CD's I would take with me if
I were lost on a desert island for three months would be:

1. Marvin Gaye -because his music makes me think about

doing my vocals
although it might drive the monkeys away- there
monkeys on this island right? I have to have someone to play

3. The Doobie Brothers -because I love Michael McDonald so
very much!

4. Time Warners Disco collection -so I could pole dance with a
coconut tree!

5. Tupac -because I could vent my anger at being stuck on this
stupid island!

Bring Me The Horizon
- Their New LP(?)

Cause it rocks the fucking pants off everything, I'd love to learn
all the lyrics and come back even cooler than I am. lol.

The Used
- The Used

I have never heard a better CD before. Mix of everything that I love.
Mint maybe.

Toto - Past to present
Guilty Pleasure. The musicians on this CD are...Phenominal, such good
songwriting. Songs that make you want to do something with yer life.

Guns N Roses - Use Your Illusion 1 & 2
Their best album I think. Such amazing musicians again, and I idolize
these guys. They rock. (Full stop exclamation mark).

Chinapples- EP
Lol. My cousin, such punkyfunky music. Shit-kicking music lol. Something
to make me laugh and dance to. We all need a smile.

Billie (aka ·!·PuNkPisToL·!·) Auckland New Zealand

BILLIE SAYS: Hi mate! Can I really only be 5 CDs? BUGGER!
Ok, here goes a feeble attempt at reducing my favs to that
of only 5.

1. Jeff Buckley - I LOVE Jeff, the man was an enigma who was
clearly way ahead of his time. Why is it people only ever pay
attention to something that was great at the time when they die?
It's when they die tragically that people take notice of what was
infront of them. I've listened to the Grace album almost a million
times and it's never failed to evoke emotions or please me aurally.

2. MCR Black Parade - Cause it's only just come out and I have
been waiting MONTHS for it's release. These guys have come a long
way from when they first began. Their music has evolved, their image
has evolved and now what we have is the near finished product.
They've become somewhat upgradeable. I likey, I likey, I likey alot.

3. Billy Idol - Why? because the man's got attitude, and it'll help with
the solitude. Throughout my whole life I've had CD's come and go which
I have not replaced. There are some things that are replaceable with
carbon copies. Billy Idol is definitely UNREPLACEABLE. I am reasurred in
the knowledge that I'll have Billy to rock to while pumping my fists wildly
into the air.

4. Chris Cornell - Another musical genius. Enough said.
Ps: his version of Ave Maria is edgy but still beautiful.

5. The Cult - There's no reason for taking these guys. They're just one of
my favs ever.

There you have it Jonathan, I've managed to actually complete another one
of your Q's. LOL

x's and o's

And Billie, a great job indeed. ;-)

Larry Mac Program Director Area 108 Las Vegas Nevada

1. Pink Floyd - "Dark Side Of The Moon" - I can still listen to this
album twenty years later over and over.

2. Pink Floyd - "Animals" - same thing here.
3. Led Zeppelin - "Song Remains The Same Soundtrack" - Just an
amazing listening experience for me.

4. Mighty Lemon Drops - "Laughter" - This CD makes me feel good
5. Primus - "Sailing The Seas Of Cheese" - even on an island, I need
to hear bass and feel wierd. This album does that for me.

Melanie Safka, Guns 'N Roses, and Johnny Cash!

I listen to these over and over all the time. I just love the 70's and
80's sound of bands like The Doors and Led Zep. Especially the 70's
when music seemed to mean something to the people playing it and
the ones who were buying it!

If I couldn't have any music on the island, I'd have to make a guitar
out of something! I'd go mad without music!

Jezebel Nottingham England

JEZEBEL SAYS: Yeah, I'm going skiing in France and will be flying
Easyjet (can you say that? Is it impromptu advertising?). *Sure, ok to-JL

I love Easyjet. When I was younger, flying was for the elite, the rich,
but when you fly on an Easyjet flight it's as everyday as getting a bus
or a plane.

No-one is over-awed or over-pleased with themselves, it's just a way
of getting from A to B. And pretty much as cheap.

It's one of the few times that I'm glad that mystery/awe/romance has
been removed from life - normally I'd resent that!

Tracy (aka Suddenly I See) Edinburgh Scotland

TRACY SAYS: Flying is not fun!!!! I have never flown anywhere.

I'd rather go by car or boat.

If your boat sinks you've got a chance, well as long as you can
With a plane crash your only way is down, down, down!!!

There's no way I would ever ever get on a plane.

Love Tracy xx

Debby (aka Living Dead Girl) Phoenix Arizona

DEBBY SAYS: Flying. I guess it's okay. Sometimes the cabin
pressure isn't quite right and it can be painful to me.

I think that airport security, while it looks like it is effective, is
really just a deterrent and is in all actuality ineffective. It makes
flying that much more of a hassle.

Flew all I could this year so no, I won't be going anywhere on a
plane anytime soon.

Jody Renee Somewhere in the Midwest United States

JODY RENEE SAYS: Ok, flying is something I had to do this past
month and I'm getting ready to fly home now. It is a nightmare.

You have to almost disrobe, and take off your shoes (make sure
you have nice fresh clean socks on). Then of course they darn well
don't want you to carry on anything.

So, yeah I'd have to say that I think it sucks. I'm paying all this money
to use the services that airliners supply so that I can be treated and
made to feel like I'm a common criminal.

Hmm, sounds screwed up to me.

Alicia Tucson Arizona

ALICIA SAYS: Honestly, I have always enjoyed flying. Believe it or not?
Layovers don't bother me too much. I can read a good book.

I always find a way to amuse myself. ;)

Fortunately, I can't say that I've had any terrible experiences flying.

I have been flying around a bit in the last few months, and am returning
to Los Angeles for thanksgiving with my family.

(((hugs to Jonathan)))

Shawn Rock Radio Personality Manhattan Kansas

Flying during the holidays can rule and suck. One,
you get stuck flying with people who are toting everything from skis,
presents, boxes, crying babies...crying husbands and wives...crying
old ladies.

Second...your chances of getting snowed in at some random international
airport, such as, oh I don't know...Denver...are right at about 80%...and
spending Christmas Eve night snowed in with 50 other stranded, tired, pissy,
grinches would completely suck jingle balls.

Third...who can afford a $500 ticket to fly roundtrip from Phoenix to

On the brighter side...there's nothing more rewarding then walking off a
plane, hopping in a car with your grandmother who you haven't seen in a
year...heading to your home where there's a hot fire burning in the fireplace,
beans and green chile on the stove, and a big pine tree with all the decorations
you made when you were a kid hanging like icicles off each little branch.

Merry Christmas and all that jazz...but personally, Halloween kicks it in the ass!

Monika Vocalist Spokane Washington

MONIKA SAYS: Normally, I wouldnt mind flying, but after the crappy
flight my best friend Annette just had with her flight (from Corpus
Christi Texas to Spokane, then Spokane, Washington to Seattle, Wash-
ington then home to Corpus), I'm not sure if I have the patience!!

Not only did her plane have trouble with its landing gear on its way up
to Spokane, then she gets laid over for 1 1/2 hours in Spokane to Seattle
cause the engine wasn't working on the other plane.

Thats not the end of it. 2 days later, she was on her way home to Texas
and got stuck in the middle of the huge storms they had there. Flew over
where she was going (Corpus Christi, Texas) 2 times from San Antonio,
where she was to leave her plane to get back to Corpus Christi. (so the
planes were basically 'following' the storm now).

Then back to Austin, where they had a long lay over there...then back to
Corpus Christi AGAIN!! The plane was to LAND in San Antonio at 4:30 pm.
They got to Corpus at 12:00 am!!

She finally just said "To hell with you, I'll get my stuff tomorrow, I'm gettin'
the f**k off this plane NOW!"

So, ya, flyin' doesn't sound too appealin' to me. I'm suppose to go to Texas
at Christmas...umm, not sure if I'm goin' or not!!

Love, Monika

Billie (aka·!·PuNkPi·sToL·!) Auckland New Zealand

BILLIE SAYS: Hey Jonathan. Yikes, I haven't done this in a while huh?

Let's see, flying during the holidays.
I haven't really flown anywhere
during the holiday season in the last 10 years or so.

But I do remember one year my whole family flew back to the islands
for a two month holiday.
That was some good times right there, it wasn't
so bad I guess. Airplane food wasn't really fit for human consumption back
then, if I remember correctly it was more suited for the bin.

I have this insane fear of flying, so I really have no idea how I'm going to
handle a 12-hour flight to LA.
Nothing a few sleeping pills won't fix huh?

When we flew to the islands I was ok, back in those days air disasters were
These days it seems you have to pick and choose which air service you
think will be safest and hope for the best.

A good friend of mine dated a air hostess a few months back. The horror stories!

For instance (this happens alot apparently) there have been known occasions
where one of the wings engines would stop. That's only one of the things you
DON'T hear about when your onboard in high altitude.

Can't quite remember the others, I was trying to overcome my fear of flying.
Until that.

They say you run a higher risk of being hit by a bus than airplane disaster.

Guess that's something we're not too sure about.

Much love

Anna United Kingdom

ANNA SAYS: I've not had any truely bad experiences and have
been all over the world.

I'm not planning anymore this year but will be going to Cuba next year.
Flew to Turkey twice this year and what does stick in my mind is the tea
they served. Took my eyes out at £1.50 a plastic cup.

It's only hotwater and a tea bag and then after all that - it tastes like
bathwater. What a fucking liberty!

Mireia Madrid Spain

MIREIA SAYS: I love to fly...specially when you landing or taking off.

Or, when turbulence. Dunno if I will do it this winter...but I am sure I
love to fly.

Vinyl Vera Norwich United Kingdom

VERA SAYS: Have only ever been in a plane twice in my life up
until recently! Alot of people I know find that very hard to believe,
but it is true!

Sadly lost a very good friend/promoter(only 23-years young) this
year to a brain haemaorage! Just before he died, he organised a
Charity SkyDive for Male Cancer, which we very reluctanly signed up.
He died in July, we jumped in August!

That soon sorted out any fear of flying in the future. Was the most
amazing and life changing experience I have ever had, so much so,

I am going back for seconds and organising another skydive for charity
in Easter next year!

R.I.P Paul from The OOPS Crew (London UK)...so sorely missed,
but never forgotten.

Mish Portland Oregon

Aww, I don't fly much...so I s'pose I will pass on this
one and catch ya the next time around.

JONATHAN: That's ok Mish...I don't fly much theses days either.

Terri Coventry United Kingdom

TERRI SAYS: Interesting question. I have no fear of flying at all.

I've flown a few times in my life. I like the view from planes and
some airport approaches are beautiful.

My time will come when it is right, and I'm not going to let fear stop
me from doing things.

I am not going abroad this year. So, no planes.

Toni Collette
Toni, born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1972 is one those actresse's
that changes looks, hair, weight, ect. more thany any I can think of. She is a in-
credible rising star that is wildly diverse in her roles. Starred as Sonya in the Sy-
dney Theatre Company's 1992 Production of Anton Chekhov's "Uncle Vanya".
Dropped out of Australia's NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) in order to
make her first film Spotswood (1992). Nominated for a 2000 Tony Award for her
\performance as "Queenie" in Michael John LaChiusa's musical "The Wild Party"
on Broadway. Gained 40 pounds in 7 weeks for Muriel's Wedding (1994) with the
help of a dietitian.
Though she vowed not to gain any more weight for movie roles,
director Curtis Hanson convinced her to gain twenty-five pounds for her role in In
Her Shoes (2005). She believed it was important to her character's personality.
Personal quote (IMDb): "I'm an actor not a movie star. I prefer it that way. I think
when you watch big stars on screen; it's really difficult to look beyond that very fa-
miliar persona. As an actor, you can play different characters and not be recognized.
I know I've got parts that other bigger, more famous actors wanted. I think in some
cases their fame is a hindrance because they're too identifiable."

Traci Northern Ireland

TRACI SAYS: No fear of flyin', but wot pisses me off is the people
who after all that's happened still moan 'bout added security.

Plus havin' to wait longer than usual for check in? Wouldn't they
rather be safe than sorry?

Nikki (aka Myspace Addict) Fresno California

NIKKI SAYS: Flying is a pain in the ass. (Not that a brisk gov-
ernament sanctioned body cavity search isn't a blast with TSA
...but um...uh...yeah.)

Flying around the holiday season is nightmare. Last year, they
lost my luggage and cancelled the last leg of a flight for me, so
I ended up driving for five hours after having flown for about
seven hours. Not good.

I'm glad the security measures have been put in place. Now if only
they could come out with some Valium vending machines next to all
those damn Starbucks...I'd be set!!

SpiderBaby Memphis Tennessee

SPIDERBABY SAYS: I am not afraid of flying. Been doing it since
I was 7 years old. I do find it more of a pain in the ass to fly since
9-11, though.

I realize that there has to be stricter screening processes, but some
of the stuff is ridiculous. Especially since they don't seem to give you
enough time between connecting flights in the first place.

Coming back from Cancun last year was a nightmare.

Don't plan on flying this winter, but that could change at any given time.

Kazamataz London England

Hi Jonathan, I love flying, love to explore different
parts of the world.

Some Planes need to shift their seats apart a bit more for leg room
mind you. But great experiences, so far so good.

Not going away this winter unless I come into some money and a
handsome man comes my way.

It's ok. I flew to Italy to see my family. It's quite
restricted. I had to throw away my bottle of water just in case it
was chemical's and I was a terrorist!! (I was drinking from it!)

And, a lady travelling on the same plane had £60 worth of make
up taken away, again in case it was explosives.

It's quite sad that it's come that far but I understand that it is better
to be safe than sorry.

Nothing will stop me visiting my family though, and I still get a buzz
taking off. :)

Q of THE WEEK: "FEAR OF FLYING?" (scroll down)

Julie Hull United Kingdom

JULIE SAYS: No fun at all, just a major hassle. All just middle
of the road experiences 'fraid, just a pain in the ass to get to
where you wanna get to!!

I'm going to Tenerife in a few weeks, then Greece in December.

And maybe Vegas sometime soon!!!

~gLiTtEr~ Dallas Texas

GLITTER SAYS: I Love flying 'cause it makes the time go by so
much faster.

Driving and traffic just plain right out sucks. I always have to sit
by the window and sleep the whole time though.

I get jet lag really bad, and that is bad but all in all it is pretty kewl.

I have a steel plate in my neck so when I go to the airport I always
get ready to be stripped searched and my luggage is always the one
to get picked for the whole world to see that I just threw my shit in
my bag and left. haha.

My brother lives in Michigan and I like to see him every six months so
I fly often. Not only that, my family is in San Antonio and I live in Dallas
so yeah you could say I am a frequent flyer.

But here goes to all the strip searches. Just have another Jaeger

Joanne Cambridgeshire United Kingdom

Might go to Thailand, no plans as yet. I love

I love the little meals and the film. I have more chance of dying
on the M25 with the idiots that cut people up.

I deserve a break after buying and decorating a whole house on
my own. Never known such hard work in my life!!!!

Sharla Jackson Musician Evergreen Colorado

SHARLA SAYS: Ummm...interesting that you would ask ME
this question...because I am TERRIFIED of flying!

Haven't flown in 14 years. I know...I need to get over it. Just
haven't yet.

So, I will NOT be flying for any of the above holidays...and I'll
just use the excuse that it just isn't "safe" right now! :-)

Sharla, what happens if the band gets booked in New
York? Gonna drive. ;-)

Thanksgiving, Boxing Day, Christmas, Chanuka, Kwansa-
the HOLIDAYS are upon us.

So, how much fun is flying nowadays?
Good, ok, or terrible experience???
Are you planning to this winter?

Jane Leicester United Kingdom

JANE SAYS: Hate flying with a passion - no fun at all. I have
travelled around the world pretty much and I still have not got
over my fear.

I have had a few eventfull flights to say the least - but thankfully
I am still here. I think a good vodka and tonic before you get on
the plane does it for me.

But if I didn't fly then I would never see my friends in America -
because after nearly 18-years they still have not been to England.

Jane xx

JONATHAN: Note to Jane's friend's in the US, get yer arse over there!

Tori South London England

TORI SAYS: Heya. I've always had good experiences on flying.
No probs. Not worried about terrorism or that.

Been away already to Turkey in May. Planning to go away next
year to the states.

Miss Tina Texarkana Arkansas

TINA SAYS: Hey Jonathan, this is an easy one for me!

Have u ever seen the A-team? Well I'm like Mr.T! I won't get on
an airplane period.

U would have to knock me out just like they did Mr.T in that show!

Sorry I can't give u a good story bout flyin', but maybe the next
question of the week will apply! lol
